Grace Johnston
We naturally turn our thoughts to love on this day, but they may not always be thoughts that strengthen and enliven us! Memories of those lost, past hurts, loneliness etc. can take center stage rather than the warmth and candy hearts that we would wish for. Being conscious of what is rocking around inside can be the first step to shifting your feelings and mood to a place that feels better and supports you and leads to self love—the forgotten commandment as one of my clients dubbed it!
There are so many different types of love. If you stop for a moment and think about all the various kinds of love you have felt in your life, you may find that you alternately bring your energy level up only to have it crash as the next memory comes rolling in! Of course the good news here is that if we are conscious we can use this dynamic to our benefit. By choosing to dwell on times when you were truly deeply loving from the strongest place within, you can not only raise your energy level but also help yourself grow in the capacity to hold higher vibrations of healthy love. And it feels so good that perhaps you will decide to feel it more often thus helping to bring a more consistently loving state to yourself and those around you.
Learning to experience love inside for no good reason frees you to be YOU …to love more openly and honestly no matter the outward circumstances of your life.
