[singlepic id=103 w=320 h=240 float=center] ENERGY: FLOW vs. RESISTANCE
When we speak about being an individual expression of universal energy, it is helpful to know how to translate that into experience. Knowing the differences in how the higher and lower selves manifest, as well as what it feels like to be in flow, helps to join your individual nature with the larger flow of the universe. The condition of your field influences how easily you can move into and maintain the flow of higher consciousness. Compromised energy leads to more negativity…negativity further compromises your field…a cycle we can break with proper focus, knowledge and technique.
Signs of Being in Flow*
– Anything that feels good
– Acceptance €“ no internal conflict
– Move toward goals fluidly
– Able to shift, back off, change
– Energy is high
– Ease in relating to others
– Let go of any conflict with ease
– Work toward resolution
– Let go of rigid attitudes, sense of competition, need for retaliation
– Time passes quickly
– Realistic timing rather than force
– Experience being in the present
– Feel sense of being centered within a spiritual state
– Experiencing a lot of synchronicity and/or coincidence
Signs of Resistance**
– Anything that doesn’t feel good
– Feeling scattered, nerves frazzled
– Increase of any physical symptoms related to health
– Emotions blocked, numbed, inhibited or histrionic
– Consumed by problem, cannot stop thinking or feeling about it
– Others upset with you, conflicted communication, and poor outcomes
– Fighting stance, tightening of mind and body
– Energy drained
– Experience fear
– Pushing against your will
– Feel disempowered
In times of stress, trauma or grief it is quite common to fall out of a higher awareness and for our energy to be affected negatively. Even when the trauma is not ours personally we can have negative effects. The tragedy of the past week is an excellent example. We are all part of the human family. Most of us are attuned to respond in empathic ways when we witness others’ pain or suffering. That being the case it is important to be aware of how one is “holding” or “managing” one’s energy in order to be able to re-balance, re-center and re-ground ourselves appropriately. We do not serve others well if we have allowed our energy to be compromised.
*These are ideals to be moved toward, not end points that are achieved by most mere mortals. At best, expect to experience a growing ability to “be there,” know when you have slipped out, and rejoin the flow ASAP.
**Omit self judgments if you notice these states. We are always learning and we need to continually adopt a persistent attitude of kindness towards the self!
