As we navigate times of change (that would be life!), it is helpful to know which of our core issues may be being triggered by that change. It is then that we have the opportunity to intervene with a strategy for balancing/healing and make the current and future times of change easier.
The following chart gives you an idea of which issues reside in which energy center.
Chakra | Archetype | Issue |
Root | Mother/Victim | Survival-Self Care |
Sacral | Emperor-Empress/Martyr | Emotion-Entitlement |
Solar Plexus | Warrior/Servant | Personal Power-Self Worth |
Heart | Lover/Actor | Love-Compassion |
Throat | Communicator/Lost Child | Communication-Power of Choice |
Brow | Intuitive/Intellectual | Intuition-Ability to Envision |
Crown | Spiritual Master/Egoist | Spiritual Connection |
As we move through life, external events, people and our life stage itself (transitions between one time of life and another such as young adulthood, mid-life crisis, or aging) can and do trigger the energies in our field. How we respond/or not and deal with them determines to a large extent the quality of our experience. The more conscious and equipped we are with effective techniques the smoother things go.
As you look at the chart above, it can be helpful to think about how you feel about the archetypal energies mentioned. This begins to give you an idea of where you could use some support or healing.
You also may be able to see how those energies are resonating in your life now. Once you know that you are on your way to developing a steadier and more graceful passage through whatever challenge you are facing.
An Example: If early in life when your root chakra was developing there was a situation that contributed to a disturbance or imbalance there creating an inner sense (albeit unconscious) of instability, lack of safety, security or belonging, then any kind of change is going to rumble powerfully through your system making it difficult to do what you need to do to move forward.
It may be loss of security brought about by a job situation, loss of a person, place or thing that you counted on or even just moving from one place to another (literally or figuratively). The root chakra is our foundation, both internally and externally and a shift in one affects the other.
Firmly grounded within we negotiate change with ease and not thrown into panic or debilitating fear.
This time in history is one that is historical in terms of change, transition and instability. We are all going through a time that will naturally impact the root chakra so grounding and centering methods are really necessary.
If anxiety, panic or fear is a major issue then more depth healing work may be needed to rectify the situation before change can be passed through confidently.
