Some years ago I heard Doc Lew Childre from the Institue of HeartMath say that we were entering a time when “spirit needed to meet the sidewalk”. To me that meant that spirit needed to enter everyday life in a way that was helpful, useful and capable of truly having an impact on our daily lives.
Philosophically this phrase seems to refer to a shift in our spiritual focus from a separatist, isolated perspective to a more inclusive and integrated perspective.
More simply said, we have moved into a time where the nature of our spiritual being has become more a part of our everyday awareness and interaction with our world—the people, places and things we contact each day. This is both a challenge and a welcome opportunity to live our lives from a deeper and richer place within each of us and to connect in ways that enrich each one of us as well as our world.
We are in the process of moving from one paradigm to another in our world and this affects every area of life including the spiritual.
Some questions that are worthwhile to ask ourselves…that can bring some clarity to our psyches, spirits…to our process as we move forward through this time of major shifting and changing from old paradigms and ways of being in the world:
How is the expression of Masculine and Feminine Power different and how has this affected me?
How does a shift in my view of power affect my understanding of spirituality?
What are the differences between old and new spiritual models in terms of goals and practice? Has that changed for me? How?
How are the concepts re: being Awake and Aware integrated into my life?
How has my consciousness grown over time to reflect changes in my spiritual understanding and experience?
