These are trying times for many as we sit in the midst of change of epic proportions. Chaotic feelings, unrelenting pressure and stress symptoms of every kind seem to be running rampant.
In facing so many changes and challenges the question arises, “How we can make sense of things and remain upright and not completely freaked out, numb or hopeless?”
There are those who have been saying that this was inevitable–modern American life coming to collapse. These same people suggest that perhaps we are learning to adjust ourselves and our course to rest on a new (really new not pretend new!) sense of power and values.
Any time we face the stress of change and challenge it is helpful to see the opportunity to respond from a place of creativity and power in our own lives–in each moment —which after-all is all we have ever really had.
What if….
You took this time to learn to ground your energy so you might feel safer, more secure and relaxed just on the merit of your own power and not look outside yourself for sustenance or security? We need each other certainly but we also need to turn within to find out what is good, true and possible. It strengthens us to learn we can self soothe and feel peaceful even in the face of enormous stress.
Maybe we are being forced to learn that we can do this as a result of all our false beliefs about what constitutes safety/belonging/power/abundance falling away.
What if…
You took this time as an invitation to practice centering in the heart and expanding love so you did not so easily spin off in fear?
It may be that as we learn to live more from the heart—from a place that values others and embodies an inner integrity and wholeness–we may just create new relationships, ways of doing business and honor our planet.
What if…
You rose to the challenge of taking stock of your life and how you have been living it and made whatever changes were necessary to put into place anew foundation that serves you and those around you well? Could this be a time to rework what is not working and be able to step into an inspired place and creatively design a life built on higher truth?
I much prefer the feeling I get when I think of this time as an invitation to use universal principles to bring change about in our world to hopelessness or powerlessness. I like to think that this is a time of intense learning that will help us all to grow, to change and to leave behind all that does not serve us. I like the sense that we are powerful, resilient spiritual beings with the ability to create anew when things go bad. I like to feel that we can rise to enormous challenges just as so many others in the world have in tough times and bring forward what is good and right for our personal worlds and for the planet upon which we live.
